Hoover Dam |
Generator Room
The upper generator room at Hoover Dam, on the Nevada side, where there are eight generators. (The Arizona side has nine.)
This generator provides power for the dam itself. Other power goes to Nevada, Arizona, and California.
Walking past the generators. The tricycles with toolboxes are quite common at the site.
A single generator. The one in the foreground is not in service (its light is off, at the top). The generator in the background is in service.
The lower generator room.
Outside the generator rooms. The water here is nearly 60 feet deep, but is quite turbulent from the water flowing out from the generators. |
