The Hardhat Tour of Hoover Dam
How did Hoover Dam pop up in my personal pages? I was playing tourist that day, and the tour was a lot of fun. Put on your hard hat, and have a good time.

The visitors' center at Hoover Dam, while it fulfills an obvious and necessary function, is also worth taking the time to appreciate on its own.

At the time it was built, Hoover Dam was the tallest dam ever built; it is still an engineering marvel.

The views from the top of the dam are spectacular, whether you look at the dam itself, Lake Mead, or the Colorado River below.

When people think of a tour of the dam, the generator room is what people may think of first.
|
 |
Hoover Dam was built to control flooding on the Colorado River, and this is perhaps the most fascinating aspect of this engineering achievement.
